About Me
Hello!
I am mother to Oranguette, a young teen girl diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our family has been on a long and winding journey, sometimes fulfilling and sometimes excruciatingly difficult, to understand and support Oranguette. Our experiences have also provided me an opportunity to more deeply understand my own neurodiversity.

Although she is the central character, this blog is not meant to tell Oranguette's story per se, which is hers to tell or not as she chooses. Rather, I wish to record and share my own learnings and thoughts. When I do recount her experiences, they will necessarily be described from my perspective as a parent and outsider, and may not match her own truth. It is a fine line. I will guard her privacy as much as possible.
I also hope to add my voice to the growing neurodiverse-affirming movement, not as any sort of expert, but simply by sharing my lived experience. Ultimately, I really just want to muse on the whys, wherefores, and what-could-bes.
